Smiles Are Goin' Down

Once there was a girl who had a very cute smile and couldn't stop smiling! Even if she's sad, she gets happy very quickly. But that all changes..

Chapter 1 - Breakfast

Kayla Jacobs hopped out of bed and raced down the stairs. "What's for breakfast, mom?" She said with her smile.

"Eggs, honey," Her mom said looking at her daughter being all peppy.

"Yay!" Kayla said as she hugged her mom, "Thanks."

"My pleasure. It is your last few weeks of summer and you need to enjoy them. I'm sure you'll be happy at school. Seeing new teachers, friends..."

"Yeah..." Kayla said her smile drifting down. "I'm just gonna go watch TV," She headed to the TV very tired-looking.

Her dad came down the stairs. "I've got a friend coming over tomorrow. And she has a daughter your age, Kayla!"

"Oh great.." Kayla whispered to herself, rolling her eyes. Every person her dad makes her meet is L-A-M-E, Lame.

"Don't worry Kayla, I'm sure you'd like her. She plays a lot of sports, she is smart, she has a lot of friends so is very social. And one last thing.."

"What's that? She lives in a shoe?"

"Now, now, Kayla. No bad behavior in front of the Smith's. Her name is Lilly, she has a pet dog.." And one more thing. He started to talk quietly, "She goes to your school--GOTTA GO!" He ran to the computer upstairs.

"Mom!" Kayla called.

"Honey, it'll be fun! You guys will be great friends!" Her mom insisted.

"He talked you into saying that, right?"

"Maybe. Don't worry. If it doesn't work out I'll talk to your dad. Give it a shot? For him?"

"Fine."

Chapter 2 - You Talk Too Much

That night Kayla hopped onto her computer. She searched through her school names list. "No! This can't be happening! No!" She looked to see Lilly's name in the list. She went on the Back to School chat. Lilly was on.

Kayla J: Hi Everyone
Lilly S: Hi. I can't wait for this school! Even if I'm new.
Daisy A: Welcome. Everyone ain't smart but hey we got friends.
Lilly S: Who needs friends? You need groups. To spray your hair, let you cheat off their tests.. Daisy. You smart?
Daisy A: Yeah... I guess?
Lilly S: Good. I'm gonna cheat off your work.
Daisy A: What?! You can't do that?!
Lilly S: Why can't I? A teacher isn't on this chat ATM.
Ms. Dandelion came in.
Ms. D: Hey girls, and....Trevor.
Trevor K: Sup.
Ms. D: Manners, manners, manners.. Anyways, I have sneak peeks of your classes!
Lilly S: Hooray! I'm sure Daisy will LOVE this!
Daisy A: You know.. I don't mind if I'm in classes with people I don't know. I love meeting new people.
Ms. D: Even if you girls both met you are in the same Math, English, Social Studies, Spanish, and Music class! Hooray!
Lilly S: Listen Daisy, isn't that great?! We'll be the best of pals!
Daisy A: Sure.. Awesome :-)
Kayla J: So, Ms. D, are me and Jane Tistle in the same classes?
Ms. D: Hmm.. Let me check.. Kayla.. Kayla.. Oh! You're in luck! I found Miss Tistle.
Kayla J: You make her sound like she's older than me 0_o I'm older than her! :P
Ms. D: Hehe. OK. You guys are in Algebra Advanced, English-With Lilly & Daisy, Gym, Earth Science, and Study Hall.
Kayla J: Yay! Thanks Ms. D.
Ms. D: It's fine. I have to get off now, do more teacher stuff ;-)
Ms. Dandelion has left.
Daisy A: It's creepy seeing your teacher using a smiley, and going on an online chat.
Kayla J: Ya think?
Lilly S: Well it'll be great meeting you tomorrow, won't it Kayla?
Kayla started to type No, but her mom nudged her and went back to Kayla's bedside table to borrow her earrings. Kalya typed yeah instead.
Kayla J: Yeah.. It sure will.
Lilly S: Well I gotta go. Wash & condition my hair. TTYL.
Lilly S has left.

Kayla got off, too. She went down the stairs quietly. "Dad. I need to talk to you."

"Sure, what's on your mind, K?"

"Well.. I was talking to Lilly on the school summer chat, and she's straight up mean! I mean, you need a password to log on, so it wasn't another person. It was her!"

"Maybe it's her sister." He glared at Kayla's sister.

"Why ya'll staring at me?" Kayla's sister, Lizzie called out. Lizzie was 17 years old but a MAJOR prankster.

"But dad!" Kayla screamed sounding annoyed.

"Give her a chance." He smiled.

"Fine," Kayla's smile went down.

Chapter 3 - Dinnertime With An Enemy

Kayla's family was getting ready for the big dinner. Kayla said she was sick. Hard to believe. "Dad, I'm sick," she did a very fake cough.

"Nice try, K. I promise you'll like her. Don't judge her because of how she acts online. Maybe she was nervous," Her dad explaind. The doorbell ringed. "I'll get that. GET READY!"

Kayla changed into her jeans and put on her school T-shirt, and a pair of short earrings and her violet headband. "Dad.. You make me so mad.. Hey that rhymes," She giggled, today it would be rare for her to smile.

"Kayla! Lilly's here!" Lizzie called from downstairs.

"Oh great," Kayla continued putting on her bracelet and went downstairs. "Hey everyone."

Kayla's mom introduced her family, "This is Kayla, she is going to Grade 8, this is Lizzie, she just graduated, and you all know my husband, Ronald, and I am Julie."

Everyone sat at the dining table and had a few chicken wings which they all loved very much. "Cut it out!" Lilly's sister, Janice, called as her twin brother kept on hitting her. "Make me," Her twin brother called, "FOOD FIGHT!"

His mother put down his food before he threw it. Kayla and Lilly giggled. Kayla looked at Lilly, and Lilly smiled, but after that she gave Kayla 'The Look' and continued to eat.

After dinner, everyone went to the living room to sit down and talk for a while. "Lilly. Why don't you go upstairs and see Kayla's room?" Kayla's dad offered.

"But--" Kayla tried to talk but got interrupted by her dad's voice.

"It'll be a great way for you two to know eachother."

"Great..." Kayla said, rolling her eyes. She led Lilly upstairs. "This is my bed, my dressing table, my laptop, my TV.."

"What's this?" Lilly said picking up a pink feathered book.

"Oh! That's my diary when I was little!" Kayla ran to grab her diary. Even though it didn't have major secrets loaded into it.

"Can I read it?" Lilly asked with puppy dog eyes.

"Fine. Just one minute," Kayla ripped out the pages with huge secrets in it. "Here," she handed Lilly her diary.

Lilly flipped through and put the book down.

"Do you want to watch the Camp Rock movie?" Kayla asked so she could keep Lilly busy.

"Sure," Lilly answered happily.

Chapter 4 - You Totally Lied

Kayla slammed her keyboard to type the web address for the school chat.

Daisy A: Hey Kayla. Lilly said you guys had a great time yesterday.
Kayla J: Yeah..
Kayla opened a private chat with Daisy.
Daisy A: Umm.. What's up?
Kayla J: Listen. She was nice all of a sudden then FLAT OUT MEAN! She read part of my diary! Well I ripped out important pages.
Daisy A: Do you have your pages?
Kayla J: Yeah I..OH NO! I LOST 'EM!
Daisy A: Don't worry. Don't panic. I'm sure you have them somewhere..
Kayla J: OK? I g2g. Bye.
Kayla J has left.
Daisy A got directed to the main chat.
Daisy A: I gotta go, too. Cya.
Daisy A has left.

"OK, the coast is clear." Lilly whispered to herself.

Lilly S: OMG. Did you guys hear?
Trevor K: what...?
Lilly S: Kayla has a crush on Dylan.
Michelle T: No way!
Lilly S: Yes way! I can show you proof at school. It has Kayla's signature and everything!
Michelle opened a private chat with Lilly.
Michelle T: How do you kno this stuff?!
Lilly S: OK. Listen. Don't tell ANYBODY. I was at Kayla's house, and I found pages of her diary!
Michelle T: OMG!
Lilly S: I know! It's sweet!
Michelle T: No, I mean, who writes in their diaries?
Lilly S: I have no idea. But I do know she's crazy!
Michelle T: Oh yeah. Sweetness!

A while after, Kayla called Daisy.

"Daisy, I need to talk to you."

"What? I'm watching a movie here."

"Is it a DVD? If it is, PLEASE watch it later."

"Fine."

"I think Lilly found out about my ripped out pages and took them."

"Try..Talking to me tomorrow?!?!"

"Fine. Let's meet at the mall tomorrow and chat. And buy new shoes. LOL Just kidding. Well maybe 1 pair of earrings."

"Sure. Meet up at my house tomorrow before we go."

Chapter 5 - Mall Trips Get You Suspicious

So the next day Daisy and Kayla went to the mall.

"Lets get a slurpee," Kayla said.

"But..But.." Daisy was staring at a pair of high-heels.

"Come on!" Kayla said angrily pulling her friend. They sat at a table slurping their slurpees and talking. "So, let's talk about that day."

"Do you mean yesterday where you called out L-O-L on the phone?" Daisy said trying to sound correct.

"NO!" Kayla screamed, laughing, "So, Lilly came to my house, we had dinner, and she kept on smiling at me. I wonder why.."

"Maybe because she was jealous you got those new earrings?"

"Stay on TOPIC! And..I know. She should be jealous. Anyways, she kept smiling at me, and then made faces at--"

"Hey Miss Dylan! Haha!" Michelle said teasing Kayla and walking towards the second floor.

"What was that all about?" Daisy said being serious for once.

"Not sure.. But we're gonna find out.." Kayla said getting suspicious.

"No..Are we spies again?" Daisy said getting annoyed.

Daisy and Kayla quickly slurped down their slurpees and followed Michelle. Michelle was picking out an outfit for the back-to-school dance.

"Pink or Purple?" Michelle said showing her friend Jamie the two outfits.

"Definetly pink. And what was that all about with you and Kayla?" Jamie said being nosey.

Michelle started talking but Kayla & Daisy couldn't hear because Daisy's stomach started growling. "It's not my fault! You made me slurp my slurpee so fast!" Daisy explained.

"I guess we just have to hear them at school." Kayla said sarcasticly.

"Really? Wow! You wait really long!"

"I mean TOMORROW!"

"Tomorrow isn't school..IS IT?!"

"NO! I said..Nevermind. Let's just go shop now." Kayla said giving up for the day. Kayla & Daisy went to Kayla's house after shopping.

"Mmm. Thanks for the cookies," Daisy said biting into a chocolate chip cookie.

"No problem. Mom? Can Daisy sleepover tonight?" Kayla asked so she could have some time to investigate with Daisy.

"Sure, does Daisy wanna sleepover?" Kayla's mom asked.

"Sure. Let me just ask my mom." Daisy said dialing her home phone number.

Chapter 6 - Sleepovers Don't Fix EVERYTHING

Daisy & Kayla were up all night. Her mom came at 1 AM to say, "Lights out!" And left the room.

Kayla was researching. She wrote up exactly what happened about her and Lilly.

Daisy was MAD, "I mean why does she wanna cheat off me! It's so totally out of the rule book!"

"Don't sit with her," Kayla said rolling her eyes back to her research.

"So, what info did ya get?"

"Isn't it suspicious how Michelle actually TALKED to me..But called me 'Miss Dylan'?"

They both called out, "DIARY!"

"Lilly must've taken those pages you lost!" Daisy said enthusiastically, but mad.

"I can't believe it! Actually I can.. A: She's evil. B: She's suspicious. C: She creeps me out."

"I totally agree with 'C'," Daisy giggled.

The girls went to bed and woke up to the phone. They dialed Michelle's number.

"Hello? Me is Michelle," Michelle said trying to sound cool.

"Meet me at my house at 4 o'clock," Kayla said with no emotion at all, "It's Kayla. That's K-A-Y-L-A not -M-I-S-S D-Y-L-A-N."

Surprisingly Michelle showed up, "You called me?"

"Yes. How did you know about Dylan. There is nothing between us! Get a life and just be quiet," Kayla was trying to make Michelle scared, but it was hard to get he to spill.

"You sound weird."

"NO BACK TALK! Now tell me..Did Lilly--" Before Kayla could say the rest, Michelle's phone rang.

"Hello? Me is Michelle. What?! No way. Oh my gosh. I'm coming!" Michelle called into her flip-phone, "Gotta run! Sorry Kayla!" Michelle ran out as fast as she could. She took the bus to Lilly's house, "Where's a limo when you need it?". "Let me see it! Wow! It's gorgeous!" Michelle called out holding a short, gold, shiny earring.

"You know that slurpee that sprayed you yesterday?"

"Yeah.."

"It was Kayla's! One of her earrings fell into it! And the earring fell in your shopping bag. And then you gave me my new pair of shoes, and the earring was in there!" Lilly said so excited.

"Cool!" Michelle screamed.

Chapter 7 - First Day

A few days after it was the first day of school. Lilly arrived with people sticking to their lockers like a bear just came in the hallway. "Move it, you dorks," Lilly said pushing people aside, "I am new, but you are just eww!" She said to a girl who was sporty. "Don't you people have any style?! We need to fix that," she grabbed a book from a girl and took out a cupcake from the girl's locker. The girl chased Lilly to the Administration office and grabbed her cupcake and bit into it.

"Look at her. Can I hit her?" Kayla asked Daisy.

"No!" Daisy answered very frustrated.

"Ah! It's so good to see you girls again!" Ms. Fantasy, their music teacher, said walking quickly to hug the both girls.

"Hey Ms. Fantasy, um are you choosing seats for music class? Because you know those boys sit beside eachother and cause mischeif," Daisy said trying to talk her teacher into keeping her away from Lilly.

"Yes. I think they need a lesson. You are sitting beside Nicole and Julia," Ms. Fantasy said, then walked away.

"Music class," Daisy pulled out her notebook and checked off Music Class, "Check."

Kayla giggled and they both went to the assembly. They had to sit in front of Lilly. Uh-Oh. "Cut it out!" Kayla yelled quietly to Lilly because she felt kicking against her her head.

"Sorry? Was I bothering you?" Lilly said trying to sound innocent.

Meanwhile, Daisy put her backpack beside her seat on the ground. One of Lilly's friends came down to the seat beside Daisy and kicked her backpack down the audotorium, and quickly went to the seat behind like she saw nothing. The backpack disrupted a very important speech by the principal, and it hurt one kid's arm because it had about 3 hard cover books.

The gym teacher, Coach Prince went up to Daisy's seat, and pulled Daisy & Kayla to the gym. "50 push-ups!" He called out.

"But--" Kayla tried to say.

"NOW!" The coach was very tough, "You're lucky I didn't make you do 200!"

"Look, Coach," Daisy said innocently.

"You just cost you and your little friend 200 more push-ups."

Omg, if that was me in their position, I would've told that coach to call my parents and see how they would like it.

Chapter 8 - Revenge

The next day the two girls were massaging their hands. They got an excuse note from their parents to excuse gym class that day.

"Looks like some little attitude with the Coach?" Lilly said teasing the girls.

"You know, Lilly. You're PERFECT for what I need right now," Kayla got her fist out, "Lilly this is my fist, my fist this is Lilly."

Daisy stopped Kayla before the coach ripped up her note. "Kayla, calm down."

"Let's ditch these dweebs," Lilly snapped her fingers and walked away.

Kayla got out her cell phone. "What are you doing?" Daisy said looking at Kayla's phone.

"Just calling my sister. She knows a good prank," Kayla said bringing the phone to her face and starting to talk.

The day after, Lilly sat at her lunch table. "Who wants to give me their pizza!" Lilly said screaming in a singing tone to the lunch room.

"Look, I apologize," Kayla and Daisy sat down beside Lilly. "I know, you don't know me so well, but I'm a good person. Here, I got an extra pizza slice for you," Kayla said handing Lilly a pizza slice.

"Aww! Thank you SO much!" Lilly started eating the pizza slice and found a WHOLE bunch of fruits in it, she started coughing, "Are you crazy?! That's not pizza! That's fruit mania! YUCK! The ONLY good thing is tomato is a fruit so the sauce was okay."

"For your information, tomato is a vegetable. And one more thing.. OWNED YA!" Daisy said screaming and high-fiving Kayla.

The coach saw Lilly with food all over herself, but he never believes anyone, even if she paid him $1,000. "How about $10,000?" Lilly said giving her coach the 'I-Can-Buy-Anything' look.

The Coach grabbed the money and rushed to his car, "I'm goin' to Hawaii! To find me a lady."

"I'm not surprised why he didn't find one yet." Daisy said with a disgusted look on her face.

"Revenge, stage 1, lunch, complete," Kayla said.

"What's stage 2?" Daisy asked getting the idea.

"Stage 2, library," Kayla said staring at Daisy and smiling.

That day after school Kayla caught Lilly talking to Trevor.

"So, they should make this the 'Lilly's Library', shouldn't they?" Lilly said gazing into Trevor's eyes on a library table.

Trevor shrugged. "Whatever."

Kayla set up a book avalanche near Lilly. The avalanche started going down slowly then going faster than ever towards Lilly.

"Oh my gosh! Trevor! Aren't you gonna save me?" Lilly said looking at Trevor like she was the Queen of Annoyingtown, but Trevor just walked away. And the avalanche crashed RIGHT into Lilly. The librarian came to Lilly telling her to be quiet. Lilly made an embarassed look, and got up, and left the library right away to go home.

"Sweet!" Kayla & Daisy said high-fiving each other. "Revenge, stage 2, library, complete."

Chapter 9 - Fun While It Lasted

The next day, after school, Kayla and Daisy sat at the mall drinking slurpees. They spotted Lilly and some people.. "You got bodyguards?!" Daisy couldn't help screaming into Lilly's ear.

"Yes, and they are awesome. I scared Julia away from those new boots I've been wanting," Lilly answered happily.

"Oh, so you weren't strong enough to handle yourself? Then this should be easy!" Kayla started going to Lilly, but Daisy grabbed her.

"Not nice to see you, but I have a fashion show to get to, Later Lame Losers," Lilly said in a mean voice. "Oh! Those all start with L!"

"So does your name, so I guess you're a lame loser," Daisy said trying to make her voice like Lilly's to show her how dumb she sounds.

"Later Lame Losers," Lilly walked away.

"Lilly the Lame Loser," Daisy said coughing.

The next day Lilly arrived with her bodyguards. "I like can't wait for the dance tonight!" Lilly said looking at all the boys in the hallway. She walked up to the boy Kayla had been crushing on forever. They were even friends. "Hey Zack."

He ran away from the bodyguards as fast as possible. He ran and ended up in front of Kayla.

"Hey Zack," Kayla said casually not trying to sound like a fool.

"Hey K, so you got a date to the dance?" Zack said blushing.

"No, but I'm saving for someone special," Kayla said smiling at him.

"Oh.." Zack started walking away but got pulled back by Kayla."

"I mean you! Pick me up at 8?" Kayla said smiling still.

"Sure," Zack gave a friendly hug to Kayla, then walked to his next class.

At lunch Kayla had a prank in her head, she snuck up near Lilly's table then bumped into her bodyguard. "Can I help you?" He called.

"No, I'm sorry, I was trying to give her some of my.....fruits! Yeah, and some chocolate, so you can just move," Kayla said trying to push the bodyguard aside.

"Sorry, she has a private table. You may be invited, or you may not. Good luck," He said walking towards Lilly.

"This is not gonna be easy," Kayla whispered to herself.
