BUILD 34 - MyVFK

Hey Everyone!

Build 34 has been released!

The old clients have been discontinued and no longer function, everyone is required to download the latest build 34.

New Features:

QuickText
GUI for QuickText
Checking System for QuickText

Note: I am not considering Build 34 the final update for quick text, there is still a couple of tweaks I'd like to do to it to make the overall experience of it nicer.

Also please comment in this thread with compliments and things that you think need improving in MyVFK.

Expanation of Features:
You are now able to save up to ten sentences or texts in the part of the program called quicktext. When you do this, you are able to be in game and press Alt0 - Alt9 and you will get the command you typed to pop up in VFK and you do not need to type anything with your keyboard what so ever. I ended up getting quicktext almost similar to VMKPal's version and the mouse doesn't move when you use quicktext. I hope you guys like it!

Yes I bet it would help with host hunts, except for the 3 second wait time between each quick text.

(Technically its 3.5 Seconds DONT TELL ANYONE)

Here's one bug I found.
I can say something like "Happy Halloween!" just fine, but when I add in a smile it gives me an error and makes me quit the program.

It is the parenthesis getting in the way...

This is because in the code its telling it to close the bracket...

EDIT: I need to make a note to detect if a parathesis is made, then make quotation marks around the parenthasis.

Ah I gotcha! Will that be fixed in a later version or will we just have to avoid those?

No way, I plan on upping it in the near future, what you guys do not understand is it is actually really difficult to expand the limit, its not like changing a value from 20 to 30. It is changing almost half the program.

When some of our devs learn xCode, which isn't going too well I might add... xCode is a very hard language to learn.

This is for security reasons that we do this, its also so MyVFK can operate in the program files folder, it actually used to be that everytime u saved a snapshot it would ask for a user and pass and everytime you open the program. We actually fixed this in build 28.

Our servers went offline because there was a power outage where the servers are located. They are being put back online as I type this, and will be up very soon!

Note: This will not happen often. The only reason it happened today was due to a storm in the area.


EDIT: Our servers have been successfully rebooted and are online!

I believe it is still in Alpha testing.. to get a serial number oatman has to directly PM you with the number.. only a few people were chosen. There was also a contest that awarded you a Serial number (Making you an Alpha Tester also) if you were on the first 7 people to post.

Serial numbers are not being given out at the moment.
Look out for Oatman's threads often for information on how-to.

Here is the fix for the .NET Framework 3.5!

.NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/info.aspx?na=90&p=&SrcDisplayLang=en&SrcCategoryId=&SrcFamilyId=ab99342f-5d1a-413d-8319-81da479ab0d7&u=http%3a%2f%2fdownload.microsoft.com%2fdownload%2 f0%2f6%2f1%2f061F001C-8752-4600-A198-53214C69B51F%2fdotnetfx35setup.exe)

This program is required to run MyVFK, please download then install it. It may take a little longer but only users on XP are the ones that will really have to download .NET 3.5 SP1.

Note: This is only needed if your getting a .net framework error.

What are we suppose to use to login?? Our same VFK accounts? Because I tried this and it didn't work... :confused:
