Since its "The Year Of A Million Dreams" why did VMK close and why isnt it opening again? This is supposed to be about everyones dreams not Disneys dream. Disney was only thinking about themselves. I can see the headline now, "2008, Year Of Disneys Selfish, Heartbreaking Dreams" @_@

Like your thoughts but we kind of have to be realistic. That year theme thing is just a publicity thing to get people to get to the parks. But i know what you mean that want to do what they want for the company and i found out that there're basically trying to make a game for all age levels and VMK didn't work in to the plan.

It ends at the end of this year. That would make it run for 2 years.

Well I wonder what next year will be... Year of sadness and protesters? I understand what you are saying but, what is Disney really up to?

Yeah. Except Disney never thought about what year it was when they closed VMK. Lets hope 2009 brings something better than this year! And if its not, then its proof that all Disney cares about is the publicity and money. Lets wait and see...

Seriously!!!
i found out that there're basically trying to make a game for all age levels and VMK didn't work in to the plan.
Wow. and they think pixies are a better choice for all ages? -.- i dont think you can even have a boy character on that game...
and POTCO has fighting which some parents would not like..
Club penguin you need to pay in order to have most of the stuff...
And toon town.... well again i dont think is an all-age appropriate game... maybe for little kids

but most of all, all these games requir payments to fully enjoy, and that leads to... "does disney do things for the money?"....
idk but VMK was about the best FREE game out there..when it was open

I am not trying to fight or anything, but FORGET??? I dont think its possible for me to forget any of this. It was just too fun.

Keep it in your heart,
but you need to let it go sometime
talking about it just doesn't help me,
what i did was i made a poster off all the titles of my great friends
that were on VMK so i'd never forget them and,
perhaps you want to make drawings of the great memories?? thats good
too but for me i dont think talking about it helps i just say..
you know what.. they forgot about us.. so im gonna forget about Disney..
that doesn't mean forget your memories!
its just....
i dont think VMK was the right game for all of us if they had to do that...
but now im gonna shut myself up and forget about what disney did to us LOL

I agree. You have to move on. I dont mean to forget VMK, just accept the fact that its gone and most likely isnt coming back. To tell you the truth VMK kept me from doing alot of things, that I noitced AFTER it closed. So try and see what has VMK kept you back from. I'm not trying to start flamming but, what alot of people are saying is true. We all know by now that Disney is falling apart in losing us, but if we hold a grudge on this whole VMK thing you might not see the good that they're doing. [not saying that they are doing ANY. As far as I'm concerned they havent.]

"2008, Year Of Disneys Selfish, Heartbreaking Dreams"

i totally agree with this. year of a million dreams is supposed to make people happy, not crush kids hearts!

They now have begun their new promotion: "What Will You Celebrate?"
You get into Disneyland free on your birthday and (I think) they travel to random places and give out stuff.
Seems pretty cool :)
Oh, and I'd love to celebrate VMK coming back, but I'll keep dreaming :P

I can see why they took down VMK, but I don't like it. It just wasn't making them money I guess. Pixies will have a free and pay mode. Toon & Penguins have to pay too right? BUT I must say, if it weren't for VMK we wouldn't have made our last DLR trip. It was because of VMK that we got all excited about going and actually made plans to visit IRL the places we hung out most on VMK. We bought pins and all the VMK stuff we could in DL. Were we the ONLY ppl like that? In that way at least, they did make $ from VMK.

I have the entire complete reason why VMK closed. Well, it should have closed in 2006 because of a promotion that started in 2005 which gave VMK life. Then I think they made a deal with a company in Finland that started the entire thing and Disney agreed to it. Then in 2008, Disney wanted VMK back and they didn't want to pay it so they instead join the millions of kids in the fight to save it. I realized that Sulake, the company behind it, is the one who should be blamed, not Disney. :D

My thread tells everything that I just said, including more secrets so if you want the complete truth, go to my thread and you will find out. :D

We all know the truth. It would have saved us a whole lot of problems if they closed after like a month. Then it wouldnt have been so sad and memorable.
