What would you guys think to a teen forum where teens can talk about things privately?

It would still be moderated.

I think it's a good idea. On another forum I go on they have a section for younger kids, for like preteens, for teens, and for adults. I personally like the idea because then it's easier to meet people of your age group and you may be able to become fast friends. =]

Maybe, you can have teen, pre-teens, adults, kids because a teen forum would just be for the teens, and we have to think about others :)

eh... i don't know. It sounds like a good idea but it seems like that might encourage talk that isn't related to VFK. Since this is a VFK forums I don't really think that that is a good idea; a mixed community is better. And people might try to lie their way in like MLKnCookies said. To me it doesn't see like the right thing to do.

I'm personally a fan of mixed communities myself. I believe it allows for more well-rounded and informative discussions, with a bit more of a variation of insight on the matter being discussed.

Yea but since it is a VFK Forums it should be mostly VFK and I think that a teen forums would be promoting more non-VFK talk and this site would become more of a whatever you want to talk about forums.

I have seen another website have a "teen" section and guess what happened? Just about their entire website is all "Teen" discussion/issues. This is a VFK Forum, not a Teen Forum. There are plenty of other sites out there for teens to go if they want to talk about Teen discussions/issues. Plus many members can lie about their age, even when they sign up.

VFKForums should be a complete Family site, not divided up into sections. If something in the teen section can't be seen by an 8 year old then it should not be on this site.

After all, VFK is "Virtual Family Kingdom" ;)

true, there are many other sites directed towards teens,
but have you ever actually been on one?
i'm not saying they are all like this,
but the teen forums i've seen are not so great.
people curse alot, are very rude&post gross pictures.
i would surely appreciate a teen site where i could post
problems&such without being bashed, cursed at,
or disgusted. also, if my mom/dad would walk in
to see me on a site like that, it wouldn't be a pretty sight.
however, if we had a teen forum on here (with restrictions
as to what we can talk about) i'm sure alot of the teens
on this site would appreciate it.

&about the part where you said younger kids can
fake their age, that is pretty much their fault.
they are putting themselves at risk.
&hopefully, if we can make this teen forum correctly,
we won't have to worry even if a younger child
joins the group&reads what we post, because
what we post won't be anything horrible or vulgar.
